The TOJIKI BANKO ceramic rice pot is made of high-quality, heat-resistant clay. This allows it to retain heat exceptionally well. Care instructions – how to properly care for your rice pot

To ensure the TOJIKI BANKO ceramic rice pot lasts a long time, it requires an initial sealing treatment. This protects the clay and reduces its liquid absorption.

Sealing treatment step by step:

  1. cleaning

    Clean the new rice pot with clean water and a soft sponge – wipe carefully inside and out.

  2. Prepare the rice-starch mixture

    Fill the pot with water, add about one fifth of the amount of rice and some potato starch.

  3. gentle cooking

    Cook the mixture over low heat until the rice is soft but does not boil over.

  4. Simmer gently

    Let the porridge simmer gently for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.

  5. Let it rest

    Turn off the stove, leave the lid closed and let the mixture rest for 4 hours .

  6. Rinse

    Rinse the pot thoroughly with clean water afterwards.

  7. Drying & Oiling

    Dry the pot thoroughly and coat the inside surface thinly with cooking oil.

  8. Leave to soak overnight

    Leave the oil to soak in overnight – this will seal the clay.

This ensures the rice pot is optimally prepared and becomes more durable in daily use.
